Reed on Vancouver podium.

Vancouver podium keeps Reed in Supercross title hunt

 DECEMBER 11 2007

chad-reed-yamaha  Chad Reed has finished in a commendable third place overall at the second round of the Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP at BC Stadium, Vancouver.Reed fought a close battle with his main championship rivals before settling comfortably back into third in order to ensure he kept his points tally ticking over.

The Australian dominated Supercross Heat One, giving fans a taste of what was to come in the Main Event, but lost ground after a less-than-ideal start. Reed entered the round as series leader after a spectacular opening round victory just a week ago at Toronto, and remains in close check following yesterday’s results, occupying second place in the standings.

The Team San Manuel Band of Mission Indians/Nike/Yamaha rider is determined to build on the performance, and will look to work on certain aspects of his game before the series resumes in the new year at Anaheim

."I was in a great position right behind the leader and I was ready to battle, but it didn’t happen," Reed said. "I think it's maybe a good thing, though, at this point. I think last week we maybe did better than expected and this is a little bit of a reality check. The team is doing a great job and I am sure that we will be back on top in the not to distant future.” chad-reed

Just 2 points separates 24-year-old Reed from the current leader, and he will return to the fore in 2007 with the motivation required to return him to the top of the table.

An immensely successful graduate of the Australian Motocross Series, Reed – originally from Kurri Kurri in New South Wales – has his sights firmly set on the 2007 title and is tipped to be the one to beat in the ever-growing Supercross competition, one of the United States’ most popular sports.

The Amp’d Mobile World Supercross GP is a 17-round global off-road motorcycle stadium racing circuit. Riders must compete in the international rounds to be eligible to win the world championship.
In the 2006-2007 season, the 17-event GP will be comprised of two international events and 15 of the 16 events that are conducted in major cities throughout the United States as a part of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series.
