As there are only two rounds remaining in the 2007 Australian Motocross Championship, with Dan Reardon clearly leading the charge on board his KX450F for Kawasaki Racing Team in the Pro Open Championship and Mitch Hoad currently tucked in second place on board his KX250F in the Pro Lites Title race, KRT will be out to continue their winning form and build on their Championship points at The Lakes track in NSW this weekend.

With Cody Mackie currently holding onto fifth place in the Championship, only one point separating him from fourth and 26 points from the podium, Mackie is also sure to be a real contender when he too hits his home state track to contest Round Eight. But the team will have to dig deep and harness their energies in order to post the best results possible this weekend, as all three riders are recovering from the flu which has plagued the team in recent weeks.

But with only two rounds remaining in the 2007 Title fight, Dan Reardon, Mitch Hoad and Cody Mackie will all be throwing 110% into their qualifying and races on Sunday.

“It definitely hasn’t been the ideal way to prepare for such an important round in the Championship, but I am sure all three riders can dig deep and come up with the goods this weekend,” said Whale. “This is a crucial round for all three riders and it can easily make or break their 2007 campaigns. Dan has significantly improved health wise since Wonthaggi and is back on his KX450F in training. He gave us a brief scare last week when he had an accident in practice which required him to receive seven stitches in his arm, but that hasn’t slowed him down and he is ready to continue his domination over his Australian counterparts this weekend.”

“Hoady and Cody have both been struck down heavily with the flu this week and have had very little time on their KX250F’s. But I know they are both adamant to finish on the podium for KRT this season and I believe that will spur them on this weekend,” Whale said.

Dan Reardon has a healthy 60 point lead over Daryl Hurley in the Pro Open Championship and a win in both races this weekend will be enough to secure him his first Australian Motocross Championship Title. Reardon’s goal in 2007 was to win both the Australian Supercross and Motocross Titles for Kawasaki Racing Team, before he heads off to the US in 2008. With the 2007 Supercross Title already under his belt, his second consecutive year for KRT, the determined Kawasaki Champion looks well on his way to writing himself into the 2007 history books.
