Over 60 riders will gear up for the start of the 2009 Le Minz 24 Hour Scooterthon on Saturday February 14 at the Parklands complex in Southport on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

As a prelude to the Australian Scooter Festival and Australian Motorcycle Expo, the event puts a variety of manufacturers and their  50cc models to the ultimate test, with each three-rider team aiming to complete the most kilometres from midday on Saturday to midday on Sunday.

Motoaus.com have entered a PMX Naked 50cc from Select Scooters, and will be one of only two teams with female riders.

Motoaus.com’s Rebecca entered last year, with two other ex-250cc Production racing lunatics in Mal McConnell and Jimmy Lau, finishing a credible 9th, after 1775 gruelling laps over the 24 hours. This year however, it will be all perfume and flowers, as three girls team up to see if they can embarrass the boys.

Spectator entry is free, see below for map and directions if you wish to come along to offer moral support, or just point and laugh. Other notable entants include the stunt duo of Matt Mingay and Robbie Bulger, Ado and Ben Wah from Blokesworld, along with the usual array of industry people and racer ring-ins, including a V8 Supercar driver.

The scooter entered by Motoaus is a PGO PMX Naked 50, from Select Scootas .
