Reardons’ Supercross Win
Daniel Reardon charged home for Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) on Saturday night with a Pro Open Class victory, at Round Two of the Australian Supercross Championship at Avalon Speedway in Victoria. From start to finish, Reardon dominated racing.

Winning the event not only secured KRT the second Round win, but elevated Reardon to first place in the championship on 45 points.From the moment the gates dropped, Reardon won hole shot after hole shot leading almost every lap at an event that was comprised of 3 heats and a final showdown race.
Reardon embarked on defending his Pro Open Class title in inspiring style, dominating the track aboard his 2007 Kawasaki KX450F.The current champion believes that last nights domination is a refl ection on the team’s commitment towinning back to back Pro Open Supercross titles in 2007.
“Expectations on me leading into this event were really high. After a disappointing opening Round result, the Team has been awesome leading into this event, really getting behind me and giving me so much support. This allowed me to focus on my racing and not get distracted.The whole team has rallied together and is focused on winning back to back Supercross Championships.
With such a strong support network surrounding the Team this year, I know we can do it again!” Reardon said.
Reardon now leads the Pro Open Championship on 45 points with Shane Boyd in second place on 43points and Jay Marmont in third place on 40 points.
It was almost a return to form for KRT teammate Mitch Hoad, who showed good race pace placing second in each of the three heats of the Pro Lites Class.Hoad who was out to replicate his 2006 Round Two winning form, shot out of the start gates at a blisteringpace to win the hole shot and take the lead on the opening lap of the main race.
Unfortunately, after showing such promising form, Hoad’s race was quickly interrupted by a red flag stoppage after a back field accident. What looked to be a repeat of Reardon’s Round One luck, Hoad losthis lead when the riders were forced to return to the pits, awaiting a restart.When they returned to the track for the race restart, Hoad got off to a troubled start having to settle for 6th place on the opening lap. Hoad refocused and rallied himself back up to fourth. A brave inside pass before the triple section, where he attempted to overtake two leading racers to put him up to second place, saw him lose traction and fall. Remounting his fast KX250F at the rear of the field, Hoad would gallantly ridesolid laps for the remainder of the race to finish in seventh place.
Hoad said, “The Team did a great job and again gave me an awesome bike to contest the challenging track. The conditions were good, but I just pushed it a little too hard”.
