Kawasaki Racing Team has hit the road and is heading South as they get set to launch their assault on this weekends opening round of the Australian Motocross Championship.

The Team is fielding its strongest rider line up in years as International Kawasaki Rider, Cody Mackie, makes his debut for the expanding KRT contingent. Mackies experience riding and training with the world champion is sureto only further strengthen the Teams presence on the podium this season.

With 2007 Australian Supercross Champion, Daniel Reardon leading the charge in the Pro Open Class and Mitch Hoad riding his winning momentum wave in the Pro Lites Class, KRT is sure to be a force to be reckoned with atthe opening round.

KRT Team Manager, Brett Whale, says all three KRT riders are feeling confident heading into this weekends event. “We hold great hopes leading into this Championship,” said Whale. “We have the strongest rider line upthat Kawasaki has fi elded in years, with three great riders piloting the Factory Team KX Models.”“In recent years, Kawasaki has dominated the Supercross scene, but it has been seven years since KRT won its last Motocross Title. It is definitely a statistic that we want to change.”“Both Daniel and Mitch have had great preparations since their successes in the Supercross Championship.  Both riders have continued their training regimes and can’t wait for the racing to start.”

After his Title win, the twice crowned Pro Open Australian Supercross Champion has maintained his winning momentum, with a clean sweep at the third round of the Queensland State Motocross Series last weekend.Reardon continued his winning ways, winning all six races that made up the Pro Lites and Pro Open Classes at Cairns.

Whale believes the injury that Kawasaki’s newest recruit, Cody Mackie, sustained at the second round of theAMA West Coast Supercross Series in Phoenix, Arizona is well and truly on the mend. “Cody is well on his way to getting back to peak fi tness and has certainly been putting in the hours onboard hisKX250F, since returning from the States last month. Cody has spent the past two weeks getting back into the swing of Pro Lites racing, putting in countless hours at his local track,” said Whale.

When all three Kawasaki Riders arrive in Victoria this Friday, 13th April, they will be special guests at the newest 1300 Kawasaki Dealership located at 48 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood.Reardon, Hoad and Mackie will join KRT Australian Superbike Riders, Shannon Johnson and Wayne Maxwell attending the launch of the newest Kawasaki Dealership in Australia.

The KRT Riders will be signing autographs between 5pm and 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
