Toni Elias has won the first ever Moto2 World Championship with a fourth place at the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Sepang.

Toni Elias has become the first ever Moto2 World Champion at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia today.

Italian Robbie Rolfo won the race from Alex DeAngelis, with Andrea Iannone in 3rd. Elias’s fourth place finish was enough to give him the 2010 Moto2 crown, after points rival Julian Simon crashed on lap 7.

Rolfo’s win was his first since he won a 250GP race in 2004. Aussie Ant West was 24th.
