Super Tenere World Crosser Concept bike
Yamaha Europe had a concept version Super Tenere 1200 on display at the Cologne Motorcycle show called the World Crosser. A Super Tenere with some hard core off road adventure parts added, Yamaha say this concept won’t be going into production.
The Super Tenere is a 1200cc parallel twin which puts out around 110hp. Traction control, and unified ABS braking count among it’s features. The World Crosser adds a range of aftermarket and factory bling.
Mods on the concept bike include an Akropovic exhaust, Ohlins suspension, an integrated tailpiece/auxilary fuel tank – the standard tank holds 23 litres as well – some heavy duty GPS gear, and a slew of carbon fibre bits including a massive carbon bash plate.
A standard 1200 Super Tenere woud be a great bike for some long distance touring, but one in this configuration would be even better. While further details are limited, it is possible that many of these parts could be made available as accessories at some stage.
Yamaha’s press described the World Crosser like this:
Fully-equipped with an exclusive range of lightweight chassis components, this high-specification machine is designed for adventurous riders who want a supremely capable motorcycle for the toughest global challenge.
By creating the Worldcrosser concept model, Yamaha has underlined the true spirit of the Super Ténéré. With the addition of a few specialist components and the replacement of some of the standard parts, this rugged adventure bike is ready for the most exciting off road adventure.
