CODY MACKIE’S BROKEN LEG PUTS HIM OUT

OF AUST. MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS

KRT rider Cody Mackie will miss the 2008 Australian Motocross Championships due
to a broken leg sustained during the fi rst Pro Lites race of the Sunshine State Motocross
Series at Coolum, QLD on Sunday 24 February.

Cody looked to be in good form, leading the opening race until a hard fall sent the 21
year old straight to Nambour Hospital. Tests revealed that Cody had broken the femur
bone in his left leg.

Cody underwent emergency surgery and had a rod inserted into his leg. He is still
recovering in hospital.

Preliminary reports from the Doctor indicate that Cody will be out for the next 5
months. Cody is anticipating to be fi t and ready for the beginning of the Australian
Supercross Championships in early October 2008.

KRT Manager Brett Whale says, “This is heartbreaking. Cody has recently returned
from a self funded trip to the United States where he trained intensively with Daniel
Reardon. He came back fi t, fast and ready for the 2008 season so this is a real step
back for him. KRT will go to every effort to have Cody prepared and ready for the
Australian Supercross Championships later in the year.”

KRT’s hopes in the Pro Lites Class of the Australian Motocross Championships are
still well and truly alive with young Luke George proving to be a successful and
inspired signing for KRT in 2008. Luke has shown impressive speed during training
and fi nished on the podium in Coolum winning his second race.

Kawasaki wishes Cody Mackie all the very best and supports him during his recovery.
