Round 4 Sunshine State MX Suzuki Report
Tivoli raceway hosted Round Four of the Sunshine State Motocross Series over the weekend under brilliant conditions
MOTUL, M2R QSDT RIDER JOE HOBSON TAKES SUNSHINE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD.
Tivoli raceway hosted Round Four of the Sunshine State Motocross Series over the weekend under brilliant conditions. This round marked the half way point of the Series, and is renowned for being one of the toughest rounds on the circuit. The slippery, hard packed, rutted out Tivoli circuit made for some good close racing over the weekend.
Joe Hobson Springwood Suzuki had an outstanding day of racing at the Tivoli round. Joe’s 3-3 moto results in the two pro lites races, was enough to move him into the Championship lead. With the points lead in pro lites class, Joe rode his butt off in the two pro open moto’s to finish 3rd and 2nd. He finished second overall for the round.
“I had good day today. I made a few little line choice mistakes while passing lappers in the lites races, which cost me the overall win today. I came away with the points lead for the championship, so I’m happy, but everyone is going to be after me now. 2nd overall in the open class was good. I’m really starting to settle in on my new Fuel Injected RM-Z450 now”
Team Moto’s Nathan Crawford is slowly climbing his way up the leader board. Nathan is one of the youngest in his 9-11 years 85cc class. He’s small on size, but makes up for it with big hearted rides as he sticks it to the older riders at each round. Nathan posted a 9th, 7th and 10th in his three races to finish 8th overall for the day.
“I had great day and my second moto was awesome. I started in second position and finished 7th. The leaders didn’t get too far away from me. I started slow in my other two moto’s, and had to work my way though the field. I’m happy with 8th overall. It’s my best result so far in this series.”
