Could happen. In a proposal presented to the Grand Prix Commission,Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has proposed a 4 stroke class, beginning in 2011, which would end the 250cc 2 stroke class at the conclusion of the 2010 series.

” `We want the class to be competitive, cheaper and a prototype series. We already had some manufacturers announce that they would not be continuing to make two stroke machines, because of the production cost and the fact that they were not interested in making that kind of street bike.” he said.
