If you watched the V8 Supercars on the weekend you mght have seen the Vodafone drivers with specially painted helmets. And if you manage to get yourself over the Colarado this weekend, you will see Chad Reed has a custom lid as well.

The helmet which has been hand-painted by indigenous artist Raymond Walters Japanangka will be the centre of an online auction to raise money and awareness for Red Dust Role Models.

Bidding has opened strongly for the helmet to be worn by Chad Reed at this weekend’s fifth round of the 2009 Lucas Oils AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Thunder Valley in Colorado.

Reed said he was proud to support the charity which uses positive role models to promote healthy lifestyle choices and education to indigenous communities.
