Honda leads sales in 2008
Once again, Honda Australia has recorded the number one spot for motorcycle sales in the first six months of 2008, according to figures released by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).
Six of the ten top selling motorcycles overall are Honda’s including the CT110P, CRF250R and CRF450R motocross bikes, enduro machine CRF450X, championship winning CBR1000RR Fireblade and the CRF50F mini bike. With improved conditions for agricultural customers, Honda’s ATV sales also continue to grow with the TRX250 and new TRX420TM topping the charts.
Honda has experienced 8% growth in this segment alone, as well as 5% growth in the road bike segment.
“Not surprisingly, the learner and newly licensed market continues to grow as a result of the cost of fuel and general living expenses, said Honda’s General Manager, Motorcycles Tony Hinton.
“Sales of our products such as the CBR125 and new LAMS approved CB400 have therefore been very strong and we are very optimistic that this trend will continue.”
“We’ve got a number of new and exciting new models ready to launch in the second half of the year, and are looking forward to another successful year for Honda worldwide,” he added.
