Rossi on Pole at Assen 2009
Valentino Rossi has taken pole at Assen over Honda’s Dani Pedrosa, and team mate and now rival, Jorge Lorenzo. Click read more for full results:
Valentino Rossi has landed on pole at Assen as he attempts to rack up his 100th Grand Prix win. Dani Pedrosa has shown he’s not thrown in the towel, despite admitting he has had so many painkillers they are losing their effect.
Rossi’s team mate and up and coming challenger Jorge Lorenzo is right there too, in third, just ahead of Casey Stoner. Colin Edwards ended in an impressive fifth, well ahead of his least favorite team mate James Toseland, who managed 9th.
Nicky Hayden is still wallowing on the second Ducati, back in 13th, one place ahead of the last man to be humbled by the red beast, Marco Melandri.
