Shakey Byrne doubles Donington

 Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne has won both races in the 2008 Bennetts British Superbike Championship round at Donington Park on his Airwaves Ducati. Byrne held out HM Plant Honda riders Leon Haslam, and Cal Crutchlow in the first race. The second race podium was identical, this time Byrne snatching the win from Haslam with a pass two laps from the finish.
Byrne leads the British Superbike Championship by a healthy 68 points over Crutchlow, with his Airwaves Ducati team mate Leon Camier in third position on the points table.
