The former "Hulk" debuts in different Aussie colours sponsored by Redline.

New Colours for Matheson and Redline

The former 5 second quarter mile USA "top fuel" dragbike the “Hulk” made its Aussie debut in new colours at the recent Australian Motor Cycle Expo, held on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Almost 22,000 motorcycle enthusiasts enjoyed the spectacular with special guest appearances from legends such as Chris Vermeulen, Troy Bayliss, Seth Enslow the Crusty Demons Legend and the 2008 V8 Supercar Champion Jamie Whincup.

The 1000 horsepower nitro burning beast, formerly owned by American Jimmy Brantley, was best known for both its bright green "Hulk" colour scheme,  and it’s incredible 5.80 second quarter mile best.

CLM Motorsport team owner Chris Matheson said, “The new livery represented the re-birthing of the bike now in Aussie hands. We decided to keep the original striking design, however introduce new colours that will compliment our sponsor brandings. We have been focused on securing sponsors, familiarising the new team and preparing for the upcoming season.”

"We know the bike is ready, it’s a matter of getting the team familiar with the package. We are planning testing in the coming weeks to enable us to compete at the Winternationals in June at our home track Willowbank Raceway"  Matheson said “Recent commitments to Lake Gairdner for the Land Speed Trials held in March, had been a high priority since late 2008, as we regularly make the pilgrimage to the salt here and at Bonneville”.

In 2006, Matheson ran his former Nascar at Bonneville achieving multiple 200 mph plus passes, topping out at 213.5 mph.

“This year the salt was wet and we could only run half track, never-the-less we topped our class and were only one of a handful of teams that ran over 200 mph. We’re fired up to get the bike package into action and are excited to announce new supporters; Smartskip, CRC Industries, Gazi Suspension and Redline Oils”.

Redline Oils have been great supporters of both Larry “Spiderman” McBride and the former “Hulk” and have worked closely with McBride to develop the new fully synthetic oil for nitro race vehicles. Matheson said “Redline is a proven product and has been at the cutting edge of race oils for many years and we are excited to continue the association”.
