Another rider for Oleon

Fans might think they are seeing double at the 4th round of the YMF Loan Australian Superbike Championship in Mallala later this month when they see an additional Oleon liveried Fireblade on the track. But this one will be running the #32 of promising 18 year old Queensland rider Cole Odendaal who has been given support by Oleon Specialty Oils and Lubricants, and is looking forward to the first outing on his new Honda CBR1000RR.

‘I just couldn’t be happier!’, beamed the delighted rider. ‘It’s an awesome opportunity for me to step up to a bike I know is capable of running up the front and I can’t thank Oleon enough’.

The support followed a recommendation from DVS Honda’s Adam ‘Krusty’ Fergusson after the Winton round to Shane Trovato – Managing Director of Oleon Oils and after subsequent conversations with Cole and his team the deal to provide support to the young charger was cemented.

‘We saw it as an opportunity to help a promising young rider. Cole has joined our extended racing family and this is the first customer bike for DVS Honda which will be identical to Adam’s in almost every way. It will still have a stock motor at Mallala due to time constraints, however a full spec motor will be ready by the following round at Symmon’s Plains. We were impressed with Cole’s attitude, commitment and talent, and we believe strongly that he has the potential to go somewhere’, Shane remarked. ‘We’re looking forward to seeing the two bikes on the track and the whole DVS Honda team will certainly be keeping an eye on Cole’s progress’.

You can see Cole and all the boys at Mallala, April 20 -22, or tune in to watch the round televised on Channel Nine’s SpeedMachine on Saturday 26th May.
