Not Hungary anymore

Image Promotors of the Hungarian Grand Prix have requested the postponement of this year’s September race to 2010.

The proposed MotoGp race in Hungary due to be held September 20th, will be postponed till 2010 due to construction issues with the circuit.

Race promoters Balatonring Zrt. said that  due to  delays, the track will not be ready in time for the scheduled race. The first  motorcycle Grand Prix held in Hungary since 1992 was due to be held at the racetrack that is currently in construction near the town of Savoly.

According to DORNA, all parties involved (Balatonring Zrt., Share Capital, the Hungarian government and Dorna) remain committed to the project of bringing MotoGP to Hungary. The building process will continue with a view to an inaugural race at Balatonring in 2010, and the track has a five-year agreement to host MotoGP races.
