Qatar MotoGP 2011 Results

The first race of the 2011 MotoGP season held in Qatar has finished with a predictable win. As expected Casey Stoner has carried his great pre season speed on the Repsol Honda into the racing, with a comfortable win over a desperate Jorge Lorenzo, with a fading – arm pump affected- Pedrosa in 3rd.

Andrea Dovizioso came out on top of a race long battle with countryman Marco Simoncelli, the pair finishing 4th and 5th.
Ben Spies had a similar battle with  Valentino Rossi, the Ducati rider failing to hang on to 6th which went to Spies.

With replacement rider Hopkins not able to get to the track in time, Suzuki were unable to even put a bike on the track, and the luckless Pramac team lost both riders in a first lap crash, with the highsiding DePuniet taking out Capirossi via a hand injury.
