Sepang MotoGP Test Day 3
Day 3 of the 2011 Sepang MotoGP test wrapped up with a surprise. 
Simoncelli’s Sepang Shocker
Mopheaded Marco Simoncelli surprised at Sepang by finishing on top of the list after three days of testing. Expectations for the results of the test varied between the safe money on Lorenzo or Stoner to lay down the fastest lap, to the Rossi fan army hoping for a devastating debut from Rossi.
The end result, if test results from are anything at all to go by, was Marco Simoncelli fastest on the San Carlo Gresini Honda, with the two favorites in Stoner and Lorenzo in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Dovisioso, Spies and Pedrosa filled the next three spots.
Honda is looking like they might be the bike to beat this year, with 5 out of the top 7 fast times. Valentino Rossi didn’t produce any miracles -yet. He did make it into the top 10 by the final day, so write him off at your own peril.
With the opening round at Qatar still six weeks away on March 17, the results of this test certainly aren’t any solid predictor of race form.
