R1 for V8 Supercars.
V8 Supercar driver Max Wilson lives life in the fast lane, with an unbridled passion for speed and performance. Currently campaigning a 600-plus horsepower Ford Falcon for WPS Racing, Max has extensive experience across many disciplines of motorsport, with highlights including test drives for the Williams and Minardi teams in Formula 1.
In taking time out from his day-to-day racing duties, it seemed only logical that Wilson’s choice of motorcycle would reflect his background and preference for perfection.Last week, the Brazilian dropped by his local Northstar Yamaha dealer to pick up a brand new 2007 YZF-R1, also a clear leader on the road and racetrack in its own right.
An excited Wilson said he found the power and handling of the latest-generation R1 a dream to ride and looked forward to hitting the streets. Northstar Yamaha will maintain its valuable association with Wilson throughout 2007, with significant logo presence on the Supercar superstar’s helmet. Michael Edwards of Northstar Yamaha said the dealership was delighted to provide the multi-talented motorsport star with his new R1 and looked forward to continuing the relationship into the future.
“We are more than happy to have developed this valuable relationship with Max, he is a great guy, a very likeable character and of course a Queenslander,” said Edwards. “Northstar’s association with Max will continue throughout the year, and we will have a logo presence on his helmet, which is very valuable as he is one of the few drivers on the field whose car is fitted with an on-board camera.”
“We trust he will enjoy his experience on the YZF-R1, and with some extra performance parts from GYT-R fitted it will be just the ticket for him.”Wilson is one of many V8 Supercar drivers who choose and trust Yamaha Motor products.
