Chad Reed at Melbourne Expo

Supercross champ Chad Reed will make a special appearance at the 2008 Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne.

Supercross champ Chad Reed will make a special appearance at the 2008 Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne on Thursday the 30th of October 2008.  

Current Number 1 plate holder, Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chad Reed will sign autographs and meet with fans in one of his limited public appearances. Doors to the 2008 event will open at 4pm on Thursday. The signing session will run from 6pm to 7pm, and visitors are advised to secure their place in the queue early to avoid disappointment.

Currently based in the US, Reed is training aboard the new fuel injected RM-Z450 in preparation for the MX des Nations, where he will proudly pull on the green and gold. Following the event, his attention will turn to training in preparation for his 2008 Super X campaign, a revolutionary series that he created to accelerate the sport within Australia.

"I can’t wait to get down to Melbourne and meet up with fans at the Australian Motorcycle Expo, it’s the first time I’ve ever had the chance to attend any of the motorcycle showcase events."

Mark Petersen of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs said Reed’s appearance would draw fans from far and wide and was excited to welcome to world champion to the 2008 event. "Chad is unquestionably the most talked about rider in the world of Supercross today, following his second AMA championship win," said Petersen. "This is an incredible opportunity for fans of Chad to come down and get an autograph, and also check out the range of bikes on offer at the Expo."

"We’ll have a race replica of Chad’s all-new #1 plated Suzuki RM-Z450 at the event as well – come and see it in the flesh, it’s a fantastic bike. We’ve opened the Expo a day earlier this year to accommodate the thousands of additional people in town for the Spring Racing Carnival, but remember, Chad is only here for a single session and we’re expecting big queues to meet him."

The signing session will take place on the Suzuki stand at the Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne on Thursday October 30. Visitors will also have the chance to win an autographed Chad Reed jersey following the signing session.

The event returns to the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre in 2008 and is the nation’s longest-running motorcycle showcase, enthralling tens of thousands of visitors each year.
