Yamaha Motor Australia is once again pleased to be the naming rights sponsor of the annual Blue Light Rally.

The Victoria Police Motors Sports Club trail ride has been running the Noojee-based rally for over 30 years and during this time the Blue Light has cemented its position asthe largest off road participatory event in Australia.

YMA has sponsored the event since 2006 and is pleased to be able to offer ‘door prizes’ of a 2009 WR450F to one lucky senior entrant and a TT-230 to a junior rider.

"The Blue Light is an institution among trail riders and we are delighted to be involved in such a well run event that supports responsible trail riding and is so well respected not just within the local community but with trail riders too," says YMA Director/General Manager Steven Cotterell.

The event will be held over the weekend of 15/16 November 2008 in the area around Noojee, Victoria, an hour and half from Melbourne. Junior and senior entrants can enter online at www.bluelightride.com.au and it is not necessary to ride blue to join the fun!

"The Yamaha Blue Light Ride offers over 100 kilometers of the very best arrowed and marked Noojee trails suitable for riders of all levels of competency plus numerous sweep riders to ensure all entrants make it through to the end. The long running event continues to promote health, fitness and compliance with Victoria’s traffic laws and regulations," says organiser Colin Chamings.

All riders must have a properly silenced motorcycle, a current learner permit or licence and a registered (including Recreational Registration) and mechanically sound motorcycle.

The Yamaha Junior Blue Light Ride on Saturday 15 Nov is open to all 12-16 year olds with trial/enduro orientated bikes (no motocross bikes) and will be run on the Christian family property with the support of Motorcycling Victoria. As always, the Blue Light organisers enjoy a great relationship with local authorities and community groups and look forward to maintaining these relationships to ensure the future of this event.
