Rossi’s new Helmet for Mugello

ImageValentino Rossi has unveiled a one-off helmet design for the Mugello round of MotoGP. Featuring a graphic of his startled face on the top of the helmet, Rossi said he hoped it would convey the feeling of braking into Turn One at Mugello from 320km/h.

The design was credited to Aldo Drudi, the noted Italian designer responsible for the AGV helmet designs. Drudi was the designer behind the gorgeous "*Macchia Nera"  titanium framed NCR Ducati concept bike from a few years ago. Drudi’s swish but heavily flash laden website is drudiperformance.com   Check out the section  under "Staff" showing the hand painting process of the race rep design prototypes.

*Macchia Nera is Italian for "Black Spot"
