Drag racer Jay Upton and his Top Fuel Promotions Team recently broke the drought at the Perth Goldenstate Championships with their first win for more than a year. Since then the team has debuted a new chassis and body, and at this coming weekends Summer Nationals in Sydney will continue to ‘up the ante’ with a new and much revised Honda Power Plant. The new combination sports a longer stroke and a larger capacity Sprintex Supercharger and promises both more power and smoother operation.

“We were very happy with the new chassis at the Queensland round in January. It‘s really asking for more power now….. So we’ve gone ahead with the new engine to fill that need” Jay said. The bike ran sub–record early increments with ease at that event. Jay said “it was so easy… it’s like driving to the shops!”

Lying second in the National Championship with four rounds remaining, the team is well placed to reclaim their Australian Number One status and has their eyes firmly focussed on an event win in Sydney. Jay and the team continue to be backed by Honda Australia MPE and Gates Belts and Hoses.

The ANDRA Championship Summer Nationals will be held over two days and nights Feb 13 and 14 at Western Sydney International Dragway.
