Kawasaki fast in Mallala test

 

Kawasaki Racing Team is continuing to go from strength to strength onboard the Kawasaki ZX-10R,
after posting the fastest lap times in the Superbike Class during Practice today at Round Four of
the Australian Superbike Championship at Mallala, South Australia.

After a successful testing session earlier in the month, where Shannon Johnson recorded lap
times that were faster than the track record of 1:06.87, Johnson has again come out in Practice
today and smashed the lap record time, posting a 1:06.62.

KRT and Shannon Johnson are ecstatic with the Teams result and are confi dent that they can continue their great form heading into Qualifying tomorrow. “More than anything right now I am really happy for the Team,” said Johnson. “The whole crewhave really put a lot of time and energy into developing the ZX-10R’s race package and the result today is a reward for their ongoing efforts.”“It was however, a great feeling for me knowing that today I was the fastest rider at Mallala,” Johnson said.

KRT Team Manager, Dave Cullen, is happy with the inroads being made on the Superbikes
performance. “It is great to come out and again post faster times than the current track record, following oursuccess at testing earlier this month” said Cullen. “We are confi dent that we have developed acompetitive racing package to challenge not only this weekend’s event, but the remaining four Rounds of the Australian Superbike Championship.”

KRT have also continued to make good progress in the Supersport Class onboard the new ZX-6R.The all new machine posted positive results in Practice today and with a few more set-up alterations,
the Team expect to post good results in the fi rst Qualifying Session tomorrow.

The first Supersport Qualifying Session commences at 10.15 am , with the Superbike Qualifying Session to follow.
