Vet’s class rider Bennett takes series lead after the first two rounds in the overall Pro Expert classification of the Australian Off-Road Championship held at Port Macquarie on Saturday and Sunday, March 10/11.   The daily 5 heat sprint type format also included 5 daily heats of the man made Enduro Extreme course.  The Sprint heats for round 2 on the Sunday were ridden in reverse.

Pro E2 class rider Darren Lloyd had two big crashes in the Enduro Extreme tests on the Saturday which placed him down the order but he regained his momentum and finished 6th in class in round 2 on the Sunday.

Younger brother Andrew Lloyd didn’t have all his way in the Pro E1 class either with a slow start in Round 1 on Saturday, to finish a credible 5th in class on Sunday.

Even though Bennett leads the charge in the Pro Expert Classification, he had to overcome a second place finish behind Jason Cater on the Saturday to win Sunday’s round 2.Click to enlarge

“I’m pretty pleased with my results over the weekend.  The TE250 was terrific, it was strong every where and the varying conditions from wet and slippery on the Saturday to it drying out and roughing up on the Sunday made it challenging.  I guess I was just warming up on the Saturday,” joked Bennett after winning Sunday’s round 2 to lead the Pro Expert classification.

The next event for Team Husqvarna Enduro is Rounds 1 and 2 of the NSW Senior Sprint Championship to be held this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday March 17 and 18 at the Central Coast town of Gwandalan.
