American challenges Robbie Maddison

Ryan Capes has issued a warning to Australian freestyle motocross ace, Robbie Maddison in the lead up to the Crusty Demons Night of World Records, stating he (Capes) will be the one to own the title for the longest distance motorbike jump.
On March 29, 2008 Capes will make the trip to Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway for the greatest event in extreme sports history, where he will take on Maddison (who recently jumped 322 feet) and Crusty Demons legend, Seth Enslow in a jump-off to see who can soar the greatest distance on a motorbike. Capes – a jumping specialist – said he had already unofficially broken the record before Maddison’ New Years Eve jump and cannot wait for the opportunity to unleash himself down the massive 165 foot ramp which will be specially built for the Crusty Demons Night of World Records.
“I know Robbie [Maddison] and Seth [Enslow] are out there saying they will break the 320 feet mark. If that is what those guys are aiming for, I’m going to blow them away,” 27 year-old Capes said. “I don’t’ care how far they [Robbie Maddison and Seth Enslow] think they can jump – I can jump further. If they go 330 feet – I’ll go 350 – it doesn’t matter I am the distance jumping king.”
A claim which was supported by the man who made long distance motorbike jumping famous, Evel Knievel, who handed down the torch for the feat to Capes in recent years. Capes has completed numerous jumping tricks that captured the attention of Knievel including jumping over five dump trucks and four spinning helicopter blades (on separate occasions).
“At the end of the day, I am a jumping specialist and jumping is what I do. I believe this experience will speak louder than words when the event on March 29 goes down in history as the day I broke the record for the longest distance motorbike jump.”
Other mind-blowing records up for grabs at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records include the world’s longest distance jump with a trick, longest distance jump on a mini bike, longest quad bike jump, longest distance jump on a road bike and longest distance jump on a snow mobile. To complement the record breaking component of the event, a full Crusty Demons freestyle motocross show will be presented by Rockstar Energy Drink which will include US freestyle stars world number one Nate Adams, 2007 X Games gold medallist Adam Jones and Jim McNeill along with Aussies Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams, Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin and Cam Sinclair.
