Kawasaki Versys 1000 Four Cylinder Adventure Tourer.
2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000. An adventure tourer with the punch of a four cylinder engine.
2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000
Kawasaki have released the Versys 1000 in Australia. Aimed at the adventure touring market, the Versys 1000 is unique in that it has an in-line four cylinder engine, rather than the normal twin found in this class of bike.
The motor is a 1043cc unit, pretty much as found in the Z1000 naked, but tuned for even more lower end punch, with horsepower reportedly around 115. Gear ratios are lowered for better low speed work, but retaining the high top gears for high speed highway running. Top speed would be over 200 km/h, plenty fast enough for this machine.
Other features are the long travel suspension, 17 inch wheels, 21 litre fuel tank and an adjustable windscreen, . The Versys 1000 also comes equipped in standard trim with 3-mode KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control), ABS and 2-mode power selection.
The rear subframe is a sturdy steel unit, allowing for a pillion and a large luggage load. Some underseat storage is available as well.
The 2012 Kawasaki Versys 1000 is available now at Kawasaki dealerships in Pearl Stardust White at the RRP of $15,999 + ORC.
