400 plus Competitors headed North West of Brisbane to the small town of Mundubbera for round three of the Sunshine State Motocross Series. With perfect track conditions and great weather the day was set for some great racing and riders didn’t disappoint.

Nathan Crawford Jr Team Moto Suzuki started at the front of the pack each moto with awesome starts on the loamy chopped out circuit. Nathan was running great lap times early on in all three moto’s but made some little mistakes and had a small fall in the opening moto to end the day at Mundubbera 21st, 6th and 14th for 11th overall.

“Today was great for me I got good starts and got to run up the front for a while before I made some little mistakes”

Springwood Suzuki’s Joe Hobson put the last round behind him and rode hard to obtain great results in both the pro lite’s and pro open classes. Joe posted third fastest lap time in the lite’s class on his way to finishing 7th and 6th for 6th overall on the undulating Mundubbera circuit. Joe’s first moto 8th in the pro open class was dampened by a flat front tyre in the second moto that saw him drop out of the race after a fantastic ride through the field to 7th from dead last off the start.

“I’m happy with how I rode today, my results don’t really show it but I was much closer to front than I’ve been in  the last few weeks and my lap times were good, I couldn’t believe it when I flatted out in second 450 moto as I was riding strong” said Hobson

Zak Newsome Fairway Cycles came out with both gun’s blazing on the bumpy circuit to have his best race so far this season on his RM-Z250. With great starts and a 1st moto duel with Sam Liekefett (Mighty Motors Suzuki) Zak’s lap times would’ve had him at the front of the pro lite’s class. Zak reeled off an impressive 1st and 4th in his two Expert lite moto’s to grab 2nd overall.

“My day went great; the weather has finally cleared up at home so I’ve been able to ride heaps this week. I felt really good on the bike again, I can’t wait for next round”
