VideoOTW – A lesson in target fixation

video-weekVideoOTW – Target fixation, and excessive rear brake use conspire to fling a rider down a hill. Every city has one. A winding road within easy distance that attracts all kinds of riders trying to emulate GP racers. Los Angeles has Mulholland Drive, or Highway as it is called at this point. Snaking across the top of the Santa Monica hills north of LA, it is nicknamed..er..the Snake.

This part of the road, near the famous “Rock Store” restaurant can be found in numerous pictures and videos across the internet, featuring the results of abilities not matching ambitions. This is one of the more spectacular ones.

Apparently the rider was largely unhurt, hopefully to attend target fixation and rear braking courses.
