6th Annual International Female Ride Day
On Friday, May 4, 2012, women riders throughout Australia will join thousands of other women in countries around the world to showcase their passion for the sport of motorcycling during the 6th Annual International Female Ride Day. The event, founded by MOTORESS in Toronto, Canada, invites women riders around the world to “just ride” on May 4, a concept that is passionately supported by industry leader, Harley-Davidson.
Isabel Perez, Promotions Executive, Harley-Davidson Australia said: “Now is the time for women to unite and demonstrate their strength on the road. We want to create awareness of the female riding community as well as encourage women to take up the activity; this event is the perfect opportunity to do both.”
Harley-Davidson Australia will be hosting an International Female Ride Day event at Cafe Gioia, 126A Norton St, Leichhardt at 11am. Riders are asked to RSVP to register and to ensure they receive their gift bag which will include the chance to win one of 20 Harley-Davidson Pink Label prizes packs worth $200 each.
Harley-Davidson Australia ambassador, Sarah McLeod said: “There is no better feeling than the freedom and thrill of riding a Harley. I encourage women all over the country to take advantage of this special day, to jump on the back of their bikes and hit the road.”
Everyone can show their support for International Female Ride Day. Those who ride are encouraged to get out on two wheels on May 4, either in their own groups or by joining organised rides. Riders should liaise with their closest Harley-Davidson dealership for more information.
Harley-Davidson Australia is also encouraging women to share their International Female Ride Day stories and photos on its Facebook page alongside stories from other women about why they ride or why they want to learn to ride. Visit www.facebook.com/HarleyDavidsonAU
