New Queensland Motorcycle License Rules
Queensland has introduced new requirements for getting a motorcycle license as of July 1st 2008
From 1 July 2008 all newly licensed motorcycle riders will be required to hold their class RE (restricted) motorcycle licence for a minimum of 12 months before being able to progress to their class R (unrestricted) motorcycle licence. Despite some discussion, introduction of the LAMs has been given the chop.
This is in addition to the requirement to hold a provisional car licence for 12 months prior to getting a motorcycle learner licence (class RE).
Pillion passengers must now be at least 8 years old
Q-Ride programs will now be subject to: without notice, on-the-spot, and in person auditing.
