7.46 seconds, 177mph on Electric Dragbike

Larry “Spiderman” McBride is the fastest motorcycle pilot on a dragstrip, in the world. Ever. His nitro guzzling Top Fuel bike has run a mind bending 5.74 seconds and a top speed in the 1/4 of nearly 250mph (400km/h).

Recently he took another record, this time using no fuel at all. Riding an electric powered dragbike, reportedly built by EV manufacturer Shawn Lawless and Orange County Choppers for an upcoming television show, McBride added the electric 1/4  record to his riding CV.

As seen in the video below, the eerily silent machine sports a 600 odd horsepower 13 inch electric motor lifted from a GE forklift, and presumably a large number of batteries. And some kind of on/off switch hopefully.

McBrides skill at riding a big tyre bike on the limit is apparent in this video, watch the rear wheel in this run.

Given how quickly this electric motorcycle has got itself to the top of the time charts, we expect even faster times to come. Stay tuned
