BMW have unveiled the road going version of the S1000RR machine that Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus have been racing in the World Superbike Championship today at the Monza circuit.
BMW’s first inline 4 cylinder sports bike, the S1000RR features 193 quoted horsepower, a 183kg dry weight, combined with a steep steering head angle and a long swingarm. Whilst some critics had dismissed the styling as too similar to current supersport machines, the finished product is distinctive in its dis-similar headlights, massive polished swingarm, and shark like gills in the fairing.
Chain drive, ram air, and optional ABS are notable.
