Three new model arrivals and an international superstar will headline Suzuki’s massive display at next weekend’s Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne, the manufacturer’s biggest ever at an Australian motorcycle show.

Fresh from their worldwide launch in Paris last month, the all-new GSX-R1000 superbike, Boulevard M90 and Gladius will be on display ahead of their looming Australian arrivals, while reigning World Supercross Champion Chad Reed will take the wraps off of the 2009 RM-Z450.

"Suzuki will have over 50 motorcycles on display at the Australian Motorcycle Expo Melbourne, which is our biggest-ever display," said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia. "In addition to our current models, we’re proud to give enthusiasts a preview of some exciting, upcoming arrivals like the brand-new GSX-R1000, Boulevard M90, Gladius and 2009 RM-Z450."

Set to arrive in Australia early next year, the all-new, 2009 GSX-R1000 takes Suzuki’s flagship GSX-R to another level. A lighter, more-powerful and more-responsive new 999cc engine is packed with race-bred technology and boasts a class-leading power-to-weight ratio. Other major developments on the all-new Suzuki GSX-R1000 include an all-new chassis, a new front suspension system, enhanced brakes and  wind tunnel-refined bodywork .

Suzuki will also display a limited-edition MotoGP replica of the current GSX-R1000, featuring the same colour scheme Aussie Chris Vermeulen uses in the MotoGP world championship.

The new Boulevard M90 will become the fifth model in Suzuki’s popular Boulevard cruiser line-up when it arrives down under next month, with two existing Boulevard models already among the Top 10 best sellers in the category. Powered by a 90-cubic-inch, fuel-injected, V-Twin engine, the Boulevard M90 offers riders class-leading power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios and reduced fuel consumption. True to the form of the Boulevard range, the engine combines with Suzuki’s  distinctive cruiser styling in a lighter and more manoeuvrable package.

Suzuki Gladius

The new Suzuki Gladius has drawn favorable comments from all who have seen the pre release photos. With a 650cc, V-Twin powerplant derived from the popular Suzuki SV650, the new Gladius matches performance with comfort in a slim chassis. Ahead of its arrival in Australia in the coming months, expo goers will get a sneak peak of the Gladius’ distinctive look, with a compact trellis frame, edgy lines and coloured steel tubing to match its engine cover.

The latest version of Suzuki’s fuel-injected RM-Z450 will also be unveiled by dual and defending World and AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed. Currently undefeated in the new Australasian Supercross Championship with Reed, the RM-Z450 took Suzuki to the 2008 FIM MX1 Manufacturers World Championship. Reed will also be on hand to meet fans from 6-7pm on the opening night of the expo, Thursday 30 October, while a replica of his racing RM-Z450 will be on display and visitors can win a jersey signed by the international superstar.

As the Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS) continues to give learner riders more choice in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, A.C.T. and New South Wales, Suzuki will have models from its LAMS range – the largest in Australia – on display. An extensive fleet of Suzuki’s street bikes, cruisers, scooters, off-road motorcycles and ATVs will also be on display at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.
