Years after it first appeared at the Tokyo Show in 2001 as a supercharged naked version of the Hayabusa, the long awaited B-King was shown in public at the 2007 Brisbane Bike Expo. It isnt supercharged, sharing a “slightly modified version” of the1340cc motor from the 2008 Hayabusa. No details were available as to the differences in the motor, but it was confirmed to have the ti valves and dual injectors of the Busa. Horsepower was quoted as “slightly less” than the Hayabusa, but no firm figures given at this stage.

The B-King is not just a naked version of the Hayabusa,  it has significant differences. Frame, swingarm, front and rear suspension, are different. Wheelbase is 40mm longer than a Busa, weight is quoted as 15 kgs heavier at 235, much of this might be in the huge muffler assembly.

Mufflers are the talking point, definitely in the “love em or hate em” category. Havent actually found anyone who said they loved them yet, but for sure they give the bike its own look.

Front calipers are radial mounted Nissin units, different to the Hayabusas Tokicos

Swingarm and rear shock configuration is different to Haybusa. Swingarm is longer, with the shock offset to the left hand side to allow clearance for the underseat link pipe.
