A handful of the nation’s most renowned stunt, freestyle motocross, trials and mini bike riders will rev up crowds at next week’s Sydney Motorcycle Show.

The event returns to the Sydney Showgrounds at Sydney Olympic Park in 2008, and runs from Friday November 21 to Sunday November 23. The courtyard complex, including the Yamaha Action Arena, will feature up to 4 shows daily, included free with visitor entry. Stuntz Inc rider Matt Mingay returns to the lineup for the event following a rousing reception last year. He will be joined by teammate and first time Sydney Motorcycle Show performer Lukey Luke, with the duo set to put on a spectacular show of skill and precision.

Flying high above the crowds will be the Showtime Yamaha FMX team, including Crusty rider Steve Mini. Reaching heights of up to and over 75 feet, riders will put on a unique show featuring an arsenal of their latest tricks, including backflips and backflip combinations. Crowds will witness the impossible as Colin Zarczynski and Kevin Zarczynski from the Sherco Trials team perform a jaw-dropping array of manoeuvres over seemingly-impassable obstacles.

The Mini Moto Playground is back, and even bigger in 2008. This year the team has added a quarter pipe to its demonstration zone, injecting even more excitement to its shows which feature a full lineup of 50cc bikes. All Yamaha Action Arena riders will be on hand following their performances, meeting with fans to grab a photo and an autograph.

Event Manager, Mark Petersen of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs said the entertainment lineup was the biggest the Sydney Motorcycle Show had ever featured. "The Yamaha Action Arena is one of the highlights of the event and in 2008 we’ve got a fantastic lineup of stunt, FMX, trials and mini bike riders ready to put on the biggest show yet," said Petersen. "Seated in the grandstand just a few metres from the action, enthusiasts can check out the insane stunt riding skills of Matt Mingay and Lukey Luke, before the Showtime FMX team takes to the skies overhead. A team of Australia’s best trials riders will follow, manoeuvring their custom-built trials bikes over a range of seemingly-impossible obstacles".

"The crowd-pleasing Mini Moto Playground is back again this year, with a full team of riders performing an array of jumps on their 50cc bikes – a quarter pipe has been added into the mix for the first time, injecting even more excitement and promising thrills and spills aplenty. The entertainment will feature up to four times a day, ensuring every visitor to the Sydney Motorcycle Show gets to see a slice of the action."

Tickets to the event start from $13 for kids, with the family pass ($44 for 2 adults, 2 kids) offering the best value. Opening hours are 10am-9pm (Fri, Nov 21), 10am-8pm (Sat, Nov 22) and 10am-6pm (Sun, Nov 22).
