Rolling Thunder wins 2012 Judgement Day

Harley-Davidson Australia today announced the winners of the ultimate dealer and rider customisation battle – Judgement Day 2012.

Harley-Davidson challenged dealers across Australia and New Zealand to put their original stamp on a 2011 Softail Standard, using the model’s classic hard tail style to inspire individuality and demonstrate the level of customisation available on this iconic canvas of metal.

The overall winner, voted by the public, is ‘The Boss’, built by Rolling Thunder Motorcycles in Christchurch, who have taken the title for the second year running.

“Rolling Thunder Harley-Davidson was relentlessly committed to proving that last year’s Judgment Day victory wasn’t just a fluke, and also to show our community and ourselves that we were not going to let the devastating earthquakes of the past year prevent us from accepting the challenge and bringing our “A -game”.

“The adversity we faced in this past year crippled or finished many weaker teams. Instead, the events of the past year have forged a stronger and more capable Rolling Thunder team exemplified by what we can produce with The Boss and The Bomber. I am immensely proud, privileged, and humbled to lead such an incredible crew.” said Chris Elles, Managing Director of Rolling Thunder.

The other winners of the build-off are Thomas Lee Motorcycles in Moree for best paint job and Harley Heaven in Adelaide for best low budget customisation.

Adam Wright, Marketing Director, Harley-Davidson Australia said: “Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone for taking part. At Harley-Davidson we are big believers in innovation and self expression, and Judgement Day let our customers see the level of customisation that’s available within the Softail® range. We were absolutely blown away by some of the creations! Roll on next year!”
