New Pirelli Angel ST’s in Australia
The Pirelli Angel ST Range is now increased in Australia with the new size 190/55ZR-17, new Sports Bike construction 190/50ZR-17 and new GTR1400 front tyre.
The popular Pirelli Angel ST Sport Touring Radial now has a broader range of sizes and constructions available to Australian Riders.
The Angel ST range now includes two new rear tyre and one new front size, to bring the range to 14 different size and construction options available to Australian riders.
The new sizes are as follows:
190/50ZR-17 (N) – This new 190 “N” version has a specific carcass to suit Sports Bikes like the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and Yamaha YZF-R1 where riders are looking for a higher mileage tyre.
This new tyre gives a second version of the 190/50ZR-17 in the Angel ST range, with the standard version designed for bikes like the Suzuki GSX1400 and Suzuki Hayabusa.
The 24 Hour World Duration Record was set by a Suzuki Hayabusa on one set of Pirelli Angel ST Tyres at Nardo Technical Centre in 2009 with an average speed of 213.96 km/h, and a distance of 5135.07km ,equivalent to around 12,0000kms at normal road speeds of 80-100 km/h. As result, a special vulcanette on the sidewall of the tyre celebrates this ongoing record on these new sizes. In
190/55ZR-17 – This new size is designed for the Honda VFR1200 and other Sport Touring Motorcycles utilizing this new size, and is a high performance, high mileage Sport Touring Tyre for these motorcycles.
120/70ZR-17 (A) – This “A” version of the popular front 120/70ZR-17 is for improved high speed stability on the Kawasaki GTR1400.
Pirelli is also pleased to announce that the Angel ST is now in service on New South Wales and South Australian Police motorcycles, using standard 120/70ZR-17 and 180/55ZR-17 “E” Angel ST tyres .The “E” version rear is designed for motorcycles 240KG+, and is ideal in combination with the standard front for Sport Touring Motorcycles carrying additional luggage and pillion passenger.
