Allerton for Goberts first RRPA
Aussie Superbike Championship leader Glenn Allerton will attend the Alex Gobert’s opening RRPA event at Wakefield Park.
Alex Gobert’s Road Race Performance Academy has confirmed today that Australian Superbike Championship leader Glenn Allerton will attend the program’s opening event at Wakefield Park, New South Wales, on 10 September.
Allerton, who currently rides for the Teknic Honda factory team on Honda’s CBR1000RR Fireblade, will spend time with RRPA participants on the track in each group, along with sharing his experience in the class room and in the pit area throughout the day. A brilliant season to date has seen Allerton score pole position and two race victories on debut with the all-new 2008 model CBR1000RR at Mallala, South Australia, in April. He scored yet another win at the most recent round at Queensland Raceway in July to maintain the series lead with just two rounds remaining.
RRPA has been well received since its launch two months ago, with entries to the inaugural event continuing to flow. The first event is now just three weeks away and as sessions are beginning to fill for the opening day at Wakefield Park, entries must be sent ASAP to confirm a place..
GLENN ALLERTON:
“I’m looking forward to being part of the inaugural RRPA event at Wakefield Park and it’s always enjoyable to get on the bike and ride without the pressures of racing. I’ll be able to ride the new Honda Fireblade on track and spend time in the class room and pits with the participants, so it will be a great day to get out there and have some fun.”
ALEX GOBERT:
“Glenn has been having an exceptional year in the Australian Superbike Championship with Honda so it will be great to have him on hand to ride with us at RRPA and to also spend time in the class room and pits with the riders who enter. His involvement in the day will be great for riders and I’m sure he has plenty of advice he can share from his own experiences as a professional racer.”
