Crump Cruises to victory at Gold Coast

Having just recently arrived into Australia, two-time World Speedway Champ Jason Crump cruised to victory at the David Booth Memorial held at the Gold Coast Speedway in a meeting that had to be continued from Saturday December 16 to the following day due to foul weather.

A massive crowd of more than 1,500 people turned up to witness Crump perform but were only treated to Crump contesting in one heat on the Saturday evening before the threat of a power outage due to poor weather proved too risky to continue the meet.

Crump returned the following day and blitzed through his 3 heats, all in first place.  This placed him straight into the semi which he also won, securing him a spot in the final. Crump continued his winning ways, taking the chequered flag comfortably in the final 4 lapper.

“The Memorial was a shakedown for me and the bike leading into the Australian Speedway Championship series and I’m feeling quite comfortable now with the first round just a little more than two weeks away.  The bike performed really well so we shouldn’t have any problems and my TC450 Husqvarna is keeping me pretty fit,” said Crump after the event.
