Triumph Street Triple and Street Triple R Updated for 2013

For 2013 Triumph have introduced an all new Street Triple 675.

Featuring a  new aluminium beam twin spar frame with a two piece high pressure die cast rear subframe, Triumph say the chassis is not only stronger but is lighter thanks to fewer pieces and welds in the frame. The rake has been reduced to to 24.1º and the trail increased by 0.5mm to 99.6m.

Complementing the new lightweight chassis is a new “low boy” stainless steel exhaust. It offers a significant contribution to redistributing the centre of gravity and the weight of the exhaust.

The whole package weighs in at 183kg, fully fuelled , a 6kg saving over the old model.

The  handling of the Street Triple is complimented by KYB suspension via 41mm upside down forks. Stopping power is provided by a dual 310mm floating disc front brake set up, with Nissin two-piston sliding callipers.

The 2013 Street Triple R’s 41mm inverted front forks are fully adjustable for preload, rebound and compression damping. The rear monoshock is adjustable for preload and rebound damping. Twin 310mm floating front discs have four-piston Nissin radial callipers taking care of the braking department.

A revised geometry of 23.4º / 95.0mm is a tad sharper than the standard Street Triple

The R model adds a red rear subframe, red pinstripe details to the wheels with a red radiator shroud featuring an “R” logo.

Three colour options are available for the new Street Triple R in 2013: Phantom Black, Crystal White and Matt Graphite.

Pricing information will be confirmed in late October 2012, with the first bikes available in Triumph dealerships from November 2012.
