Visitors to the 2007 Sydney Motorcycle Show will have the final opportunity to see Ducati’s Desmosedici RR in the flesh, with the incredible MotoGP replica street bike set to return to its home in Italy soon after the event.
One of hundreds of motorcycles to be showcased at Sydney Olympic Park from November 2-4, the Desmosedici RR’s fleeting affair with Australia has been a memorable one, with recently-crowned World Champion and local boy Casey Stoner riding the Desmosedici GP7 to an incredibly popular victory at the Australian MotoGP just a few weeks ago. As the world’s only true MotoGP replica street bike, the Desmosedici RR produces over 200hp and is capable of speeds in excess of 330kph.
It was on display at Phillip Island and heads to Sydney in just over a week’s time in one of its few public appearances. The ultimate expression of Ducati Corse’s racing experience and technology transferred to a street bike, the Desmosedici RR has become the new benchmark for performance, ultra high component quality and style for the entire industry. Worldwide response has been so great that the total production run has now been limited to just 1500, with the bike valued at approximately $110,000.
Ducati joins a wide range of motorcycle manufacturers that will exhibit their latest models at the highly-anticipated Sydney Motorcycle Show. New additions to the range of models from Aprilia, Arqin, BMW Motorrad, BRP, Buell, Cagiva, Harley-Davidson, Honda MPE, Husqvarna, Hyosung, Kawasaki, KTM, MV Agusta, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha Motor are set to sizzle.
