Honda’s American R&D department has shown off 3 concept customs based on the VT1300
Honda VT1300 Show Bikes – The Slammer, The Switchblade and The Furious
Honda USA had three custom VT1300’s on show at the recent Long Beach motorcycle show. Three different designers each had 3 months to get the builds done. The finished items are all different: a chopper, a Bagger and a Drag inspired version. The VT’s will be used for the US show circuit.

Erik Dunshee of Honda R&D America built this low and black bagger from a standard Stateline. The Slammer has a fully adjustable air-ride suspension, NAV/Multimedia, 10″ subwoofer and 500 watts of power. With a full front end conversion,a 23″ custom front wheel, this look was achieved without frame or engine modification.

2010 Sabre “Switchblade”
Starting with a 2010 Sabre, designer Edward Birtulescu conceived Switchblade. A dragbike inspired cruiser that also took styling cues from Formula1 and MotoGP. Carbon fibre parts, 3 way adjustable race suspension and a single sided swing arm with a 535 chain conversion.

2010 Honda Fury “Furious”
Based on a 2010 Fury, Nick Renner produced the “Furious”, blend of new and old school. A 23 inch wheel up front and a 20 on the rear, with a 45 degree rake and converted hard tail create this clean chopper. Metal flake, variegated leafing, and diamond stitched seat contrast with the five spoke rims and Fury tank.
