Suzuki has expanded its learner-approved range of motorcycles, with the arrival of the 2009-model GSX650FU and SV650SU.

The addition of the GSX650FU and SV650SU brings Suzuki’s LAMS (Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme) approved range to a total of 12 motorcycles, providing choices ranging from scooters all the way through to cruisers to suit all shapes, sizes and preferences.

“Suzuki is committed to ensuring all entry-level and returning motorcyclists have a diverse range of options, and these two brand new models are a welcome addition to our LAMS range,” said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia. “I think LAMS is going to see more and more riders taking to the streets, and we feel that our range caters to all the needs of new and returning riders.”

The two new models have been tuned to meet LAMS criteria, which governs what motorcycles can be ridden by learner riders in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, A.C.T. and New South Wales.

Suzuki’s GSX650FU is a classic middleweight motorcycle, perfect to fit the needs of learner riders, with a four-cylinder, fuel-injected 650cc engine. Combining LAMS eligibility with Suzuki’s proven technology, it’s also suitable for use well after riders have fulfilled their learner requirements. The SV650SU features a standout and proven 645cc, 90 degree V-twin engine with high quality components. On each model, the ECM (Engine Control Module) has been re-mapped to match power output with the legal requirements for learner riders, while remaining true to the model’s handling and riding characteristics.

Available for $9,990* from Suzuki dealers shortly, the SV650SU features a Metallic Blue livery, with the GSX650FU coming in a sporty Metallic Blue / White colour scheme. *RRP includes GST, excludes dealer delivery and government charges.
