MV Agusta F3 Revealed
With it’s public unveiling at the EIMCA show in Milan today, MV Agusta have released details and pictures of their new middleweight supersport contender, the F3. Based on a triple cylinder 675cc powerplant, MV are confident their F3 will jump them to the head of the class.
While full technical details are not yet available, some are known. A radical feature is the counter-rotating crankshaft, i.e. the crank spins backwards. Electronics will include ride by wire throttle, multi-mapping, and traction control. MV say the 675 engine is the most compact, narrowest – and importantly – most powerful engine in this class.
Like the iconic 4 tailpipes on the F4, the F3 has it’s own signature exhaust, with three slashcut pipes exiting on the right hand side. Quality chassis components abound, as you’d expect. A single sided swingarm is suspended via a Sachs shock, and attached to a frame made of steel tubing and aluminium plates. Forks are Marzocchi, with Brembo discs and radial calipers.
As yet, no details as to price or expected availability in Australia is known.
